Social and ecological commitment
Responsibility
Social responsibility
Life and work at the estancia.
The farm is 140 km from the nearest town. Employees and families live directly on the farm; La Huella organizes supplies, medicine, transport, and regular trips.
All employees are covered by social security and have access to the state health system.
Families
Education and local work opportunities.
School-age children do not live on the farm. La Huella supports school attendance, boarding costs, and school fees.
Projects for women living on the farm include poultry, egg production, and a hydroponic greenhouse.
Ecology
Only half the land is used for pasture.
The development considered requirements related to the UN-REDD programme. Around 22,000 hectares remain natural habitat for native flora and fauna.
Together with the Wildlife Conservation Society and partners, La Huella works to protect biodiversity, pumas, and jaguars.
